Daniel Yoo (violin, viola) is an internationally renowned violinist. At the age of 14, he was invited to study at the Juilliard School of Music on the violin with Dorothy Delay, and on the viola with Eugene Becker. There he played alongside some of the world’s most famous and respected musicians in the classical music scene. He has also studied with Jascha Brodsky, a predecessor of Eugene Ysaye, and Victor Danchenko who is a predecessor of David Oistrakh. There Daniel continued his studies at the Esther Boyer College of Music on full scholarship and stipend. He later attended the Cleveland Institute of Music and left to go on a concert tour of Asia with a 17th century Stradivarius violin on loan to him by a private owner. Daniel has garnered numerous awards internationally, and locally he has won prizes in the Canadian Music Competition and the Kiwanis Music Competition. He is the open division trophy prize winner of 2001.

Daniel has acted as the concertmaster for numerous orchestras and has been to many prestigious music festivals such as the Aspen, Spoleto, and Verbier Music Festivals, where he worked with well-known artists and conductors. He has toured most of Asia & Europe alongside Anne-Sophie Mutter and Andre Previn, and has also collaborated closely with movie composer Kristoff Penderecki as a solo artist and concertmaster of the Casals Festival Orchestra. After 25 years abroad, he has decided to return to his hometown to establish himself as a violin teacher, and to make his mark in the Toronto Music Scene.
